As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering health awareness and preventing health risks, PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk held the 11th edition of Teladan Talks on June 8, 2026, under the theme “Silent Disease: Looking Healthy Does Not Always Mean Being Healthy.” The session featured dr. Fandy Erlangga Putra, SP.PD, C.PML, C.PL, C.MED, AIFO-K, Head of the Internal Medicine Medical Staff at Sari Asih Karawaci Hospital, Tangerang, Banten.

During the session, dr. Fandy highlighted the risks associated with silent diseases, which can pose significant threats to an individual's health. Silent diseases are conditions that develop gradually without presenting noticeable symptoms in their early stages. As a result, individuals may appear healthy and continue their daily activities as usual while an underlying condition progresses unnoticed. Many silent diseases remain undetected until complications arise or organ damage has occurred, often leading to delayed diagnosis and more complex treatment.

Examples of conditions commonly categorized as silent diseases include hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol), chronic kidney disease, hepatitis B, and cancer. In addition, dr. Fandy emphasized the importance of recognizing early warning signs that may indicate underlying health issues, including changes in bowel or urinary habits, wounds that do not heal, abnormal bleeding, the appearance of lumps, persistent digestive problems or difficulty swallowing, changes in moles, as well as prolonged coughing or hoarseness.

The risk of silent diseases can be reduced through the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices, such as maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet, engaging in at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day, avoiding smoking, getting adequate rest, managing stress effectively, and undergoing regular medical check-ups as part of an early detection strategy.

Through this initiative, PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk encourages employees to take a proactive role in safeguarding their health, not only by seeking treatment when illness occurs, but also by prioritizing prevention and early detection. By maintaining good health and well-being, employees are better positioned to perform at their best, sustain long-term productivity, and contribute to the Company's operational excellence and sustainable growth.
