East Kutai, June 12, 2026 – As part of its commitment to implementing sustainable palm oil plantation practices, PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk (TPA) continues to strengthen its forest and land fire prevention efforts through collaboration with village authorities and key stakeholders across its operational areas.
This commitment was demonstrated through the "Forest and Land Fire Synergy: Firefighting Equipment Handover and Cooperation Agreement for the Fire-Aware Farmer Group (KTPA)", held at the Kelinjau Ulu Village Office in Muara Ancalong District, East Kutai Regency. The initiative represents a tangible step toward enhancing community preparedness while establishing a more integrated and sustainable forest and land fire prevention system.
The event was attended by Abdul Rahman, Head of Area 4 of PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk, Mashuri, Senior Manager, Suheimi, Head of Sustainability, representatives from the East Kutai Plantation Agency, the Kelinjau Ulu Government, and the Muara Ancalong Sub-district Leadership Coordination Forum (Muspika).
The Company's management emphasized that forest and land fire prevention is a shared responsibility requiring strong collaboration among the private sector, government, and local communities. Such collaboration is expected to strengthen early detection capabilities, accelerate emergency response, and minimize risks that could threaten communities, the environment, and surrounding ecosystems.
As part of the program, the Company symbolically handed over forest and land firefighting equipment to the Kelinjau Ulu Village Government and also members of the Fire-Aware Farmer Group (Kelompok Tani Peduli Api – KTPA). The equipment is expected to enhance the group's operational capacity to conduct initial firefighting efforts when hotspots are detected, helping prevent fires from spreading.
On the same occasion, PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk and the Kelinjau Ulu Government signed a Cooperation Agreement for the establishment of the Fire-Aware Farmer Group (KTPA). The agreement marks an important milestone in strengthening coordination and collaboration between the Company, the village government, and local communities in preventing and managing forest and land fires on a sustainable basis.
In addition to strengthening community capacity through the establishment of KTPA, PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk also implements hotspot monitoring and an early warning system as part of its early fire detection strategy across the Company's operational areas. Information generated through these monitoring systems serves as the basis for field verification and rapid response, enabling potential fires to be addressed before they escalate into larger incidents.
By integrating technology, operational preparedness, and community empowerment, the Company continues to strengthen a comprehensive forest and land fire prevention system. This collaborative approach is expected to enhance community preparedness while reinforcing environmental protection and safeguarding surrounding areas from the risks of forest and land fires.
In line with its sustainability commitment, PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk will continue to develop collaborative initiatives that support environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of responsible palm oil plantation practices. The Company believes that strong synergy among technology, government, local communities, and the private sector is fundamental to building safer, more resilient, and sustainable operational areas for the benefit of all stakeholders.
